A summer of fun at our young carer activity days

Throughout the summer we have been really delighted to offer young carers a chance to take a break, have some fun and join with others for a day of fun and new opportunities. A busy calendar of sports days, forest school, dance and drumming workshops and animal encounters have been on offer with lots of young carers joining us and most days fully booked. Huge thanks to Laura, Lin and Sheryl from GYC for arranging and organising these fantastic days.

The Forest Activity Day at Oakbrook Community Farm was a great success with 23 young carers really enjoyed a varied range of activities including leaf bashing, charcoal drawing, building dens, blindfold discovery, mud pies and lots more. The weather was kind to us and everyone enjoyed a day of fun, laughter and trying new things in the great outdoors. It was wonderful to see everyone giving it a go, having fun and making lovely friendships.

Thanks to Andy and Ruth from Oakbrook for leading the activities throughout the day, also to Mandy from GYC for volunteering on the day.

We are so grateful to Morrisons Foundation for funding our young carer activity days this year.
