It may be that their CSR (corporate social responsibility) policy stipulates the choice of a charity that matches their company's aims and objectives or it could be that the choice is driven by the personal links of employees. Whatever the drive behind the decision - charities rely upon such decisions.Gloucestershire Young Carers not only benefits from financial donations from many companies throughout the year but, more importantly, values the partnerships that then develop. Working with young people, our charity is keen to ensure we have as many links with companies as we can so we can identify work experience opportunities, internships, apprenticeships and career vacancies for the young adult carers our staff work with.In addition, we work with employees to secure the right information for young people and, indeed, our YAC Futures career day which is held at Skillzone each year can only take place thanks to the 13 or so company representatives who take part in this valuable speed-networking event.Corporate partners can offer a charity professional advice, provide trustees for our board and valuable volunteers. Recently, Paish Tooth accountants of Cheltenham did a team volunteering day at the YAC Futures event - guiding participants around the venue.Kohler EMEA have hosted our Newsletter Day - helping the young carers with their writing and interviewing skills.Co-op Midcounties have sponsored our YAC Futures event for the past two years.Quayside Wealth Management sponsored our fundraising event in the Autumn of last year at Berkeley Castle.There are myriad ways in which a company can engage its employees or support a charity and we'd love to discuss these with you today. Here are a few upcoming opportunities for companies to get involved with our charity:

• Sponsorship - we're looking for a co-sponsor for our forthcoming Hidden Potential art exhibition in September this year
• Volunteer days - we are delighted when companies take over our tearooms fundraiser at Tewkesbury Abbey
• Mentoring - perhaps your team can offer interview skills training for young carers or help with personal statements, job applications and CV writing
• Work Experience - we're looking for solicitors presently who can offer experience in the legal field to young adult carers
• Running activities in our young carer groups - we welcome corporate teams into our groups to run cake baking or football or similar activities
• Participating in fundraisers like We Care, We Dare - our next I'm A Celebrity style challenge is next February - sign up NOW
