On May 28th, we hosted a fantastic sports day at Cheltenham Ladies College Sports Centre for young carers from across the county, featuring a range of activities including noughts and crosses, egg-and-spoon races, basketball and dodgeball! Our Senior Key Worker Sheryl said,

“Activity days like today are important to the young carers we work with, not only does it provide an opportunity of respite from their caring role whilst school is closed for half term, but it also allows the young carers a safe space to chat with staff and make friends with other young carers going through similar experiences at home.  

28 young carers attended the activity with us today with many new faces, and although some were a little nervous at the start, they made friends almost immediately and those initial worries soon disappeared. It was lovely to see so many smiley faces.”

It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and of course, friendly competition! We would like to thank Cheltenham Ladies College for the use of their facilities.
