We are thrilled to announce the appointment of local businesswoman, Izzy Weatherall, as the Gloucestershire Young Carers 'Swim the Channel' Ambassador! In August this year, Izzy achieved the incredible feat of swimming the English Channel, taking 16 hours and 57 minutes and swimming over 21 miles.

With Izzy’s support and encouragement, we’ve already seen 25 Cheltenham College students and teachers participate in a relay swim, covering the Channel distance in their school pool across 4 hours. Additionally, Mrs. Jenna Reynolds completed the distance over 12 weeks, raising over £350 for the organisation.

Izzy’s dedication and enthusiasm are truly inspiring, and we look forward to many more successful events with her as our ambassador. Speaking on the appointment, Izzy said:

"I have always aimed to inspire others, particularly young people who may be navigating the uncertainties of life, I hope to convey that true achievement transcends social media metrics or conventional success markers. It is about finding your path and pushing through adversity to reach your goals."
