With home learning and lockdown becoming part of our everyday lives since March 2020, the need for technology within the home has never been greater than in the last 12 months. Our charity partner Spirax Sarco, headquartered in Cheltenham, were more than willing to help with our plea for technology which included brand new laptops and internet connectivity for 6 young carers and their families who were most in need of this help. With a generous donation from the organisation we have been able to provide this much needed equipment to the families as well as online connectivity. Global Steam Business Development Director Rachel Pallett said, “This kind of community support is really valuable. And it’s clear that the need is urgent, we are very happy to have been able to help in this way”.
Laura Ritchings, GYC Youth Development worker said “Being able to provide such practical and essential support to extremely vulnerable families at this difficult time has been amazing. When everyone is feeling so isolated we have been able to provide necessary equipment and support to help our families find and make some valuable connections.”
