Why did you decide to volunteer for GYC?

GYC is an organisation that supports young people who through circumstances, have been given a challenging role at a most critical and vulnerable period of their lives. GYC works to make a difference, support and enable these people;

What kind of things do you get involved with?

Supervision of colleagues working in GYC. Support to the senior Leadership Team in developing strategy and delivering services as a Trustee and Chair;

How does volunteering make you feel?

Volunteering is one way of giving back to a community in Gloucestershire, and working in an organisation that supports young people has the ‘feel good’ factor of investing not only in their future but also in the future of the wider society.

What would you say to anyone else thinking about volunteering with GYC?

GYC provides a vehicle to support young carers in their role and see themselves as they can be, alongside caring. If you want to make a difference, give it a go!
