Volunteers’ Week is an annual campaign, entering its 37th year, which sees charities, voluntary groups, social organisations, and volunteers themselves come together to recognise the incredible impact that volunteering has in UK communities.
This year’s theme is ‘A time to say thanks’ – recognising that during an exceptionally difficult year due to the coronavirus pandemic, people from all walks of life around the UK have taken the time to volunteer and made a huge difference to people and their communities every day – just as they do every year.
Here at Gloucestershire Young Carers, we wish to take the opportunity to thank all our existing and new volunteers who have supported us through the last year and all of it’s challenges. We also want to thank all those volunteers who are patiently waiting to get back to their face-to-face roles. As we move through the recovery plan, I hope that we will all be able to safely embrace volunteering once more.
From fundraising roles, awareness raising, supporting the work we do at groups and activities for young carers, enabling the young people to access our service by giving their time to provide transport and of course behind the scenes with admin support saving us time and money. We must also say a huge thanks to our Board of Trustees who provide by giving their guiding hand to us and are all volunteers. We value our volunteers as part of our team enabling us to continue our crucial work with young carers. Once again, we thank you all and hope to see you very soon.
