Our Volunteers Deliver

Volunteer support helps us to keep young carers connected.

We are proud of our ‘We Care, We Count’ - our newsletter written for young carers by young carers that has been running now for twelve years!  Thanks to the help our dedicated volunteers Di, Colin, Louise, Bethanie, Ken and Christine we have managed to send out the latest edition to 777 young carer families in Gloucestershire, despite the challenges of lockdown.

“We know from what they have told us that young carers really value receiving it through their letter boxes” says Laura Ritchings – (Development Worker – Youth Work)  “We also knew how important it was to keep them feeling informed and connected at a time when many are rarely leaving the house, not able to meet their friends, and not attending school or going to young carer groups’

“Thankfully, young carers had written most of this edition before COVID hit, back when we thought local flooding was the biggest disruption 2020 was going to make to our service.“

We are really grateful to our brilliant volunteers for working hard in their homes to get this sent out and also to Dave at Blue Sky Signs for giving his creative time for free putting it together.
