On Tuesday 1st September 2024, the Mosquito Mission visited The University of Gloucestershire to deliver two sessions to Primary ECT students, informing them about young carers, their experiences in school, and how they as new professionals can help identify and support young carers in their schools.

GYC was invited, alongside other local and national organisations, for the report launch of the first ever parliamentary inquiry into young and young adult carers. This report has revealed that a lack of support for young carers is having a devastating impact on their education, wellbeing and future prospects.
Three young carers spent some of their half term holidays making sure that the social workers of the future are ‘young carer aware’.
