Gloucestershire Young Carers have been appointed to continue to provide support for young people in the county who are in a caring role in their family.The charity was awarded the contract to support young and young adult carers in the county by Gloucestershire County Council and Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).This news will mean continuation of the work Gloucestershire Young Carers have been doing for the past 25 years; work which grows increasingly challenging year on year.The charity will work closely with statutory bodies to identify young carers in the county with the aim of putting support in place to help the young carers in their individual situations.The contract is welcomed by the charity which will then continue with its vital fundraising efforts to put the most appropriate support in place for young carers once identified, support that includes respite groups, one to one mentoring, and activities and short breaks.They will continue to reach young carers and young adult carers and put support in place so they can have the same education, health and wellbeing and life chances as their peers.
