Paul Hamlyn Foundation Youth Strategic Investment Fund Success

We are thrilled to announce that we have been successful in our application for investment from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Youth Strategic Investment Fund.

Towards the end of 2020 and as testament to our existing and successful relationship with the Foundation, we were invited to apply for this significant investment. The fund provides multi-year support for up to 5 years, mixing financial input and non-financial support. It is designed as a strategic investment that will have a longer-term influence on the shape of an organisation, its impact in working with young people and its position within its field.

The Fund is only awarded to a small number of organisations each year and will provide a five year package of support to Gloucestershire Young Carers.

Moira Sinclair, Chief Executive, Paul Hamlyn Foundation, said: “This latest round of the Youth Strategic Investment Fund aims to support the long term growth and impact of organisations that we see are doing a brilliant job of working with young people to achieve positive change. Core funding has been a key element of our funding approach. At a time when young people are facing significant challenges, and when investment in youth services and activities is declining, we believe it’s even more important. We hope this commitment, alongside flexible expert support, will enable these organisations to strengthen their services and consolidate their position as leaders within their field.”

Ele Semadeni, Operations Manager at Gloucestershire Young Carers said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this investment, especially in what has been such a challenging time for young carers. We are excited to have this opportunity to develop our organisation strategically and operationally, working with our partners to reach out to more young carers, promote good practice and expand our work with young carers influencing policy.”
