1. Teas for snowdrops and other events areprovided in a private extension of Colesbourne Park, namely the Long Room andadjoining food preparation room. Everyeffort is made to provide satisfactory facilities but it should be noted thatthe carpet in the Long Room is protected against garden mud with polythenesheeting and the food preparation room is not a formal kitchen for thepreparation of meals other than tea, coffee and cakes.
2. The Long Room will be set out with apolythene sheet over the carpets and with a serving table and tables and chairsfor about 55 people.
3. Users must consider their own public healthand insurance requirements and volunteers carrying out a tea service mustsatisfy themselves that the facilities provided are suitable in all respectsfor their purposes.
4. We provide approximately 50 cups andsaucers, cake plates, water boilers, 3 caterers’ thermos jugs, a fewteapots (large) and wipeable table cloths.
5. A banner may be hung on the outside wall anda display stand inside if desired. Leaflets may be distributed.
6. In order to speed the through put werecommend a fixed price of £2.50 or £3.00 for a cup of tea and piece of cake,but this is not a rigid requirement.
7. We will place visitors’ comments sheets oneach table in order to gauge public opinion on the visit.
8. After events all utensils, crockery andglass must be left washed and dried and the floors cleaned and washed. All breakages must be reported and rubbishtaken away.
9. We may be able to take unused cakes forcoach party visits over the next day or two.
10. Approx. 8 garden helpers to be given a free cupof tea and cake at 4.30pm.
11. We cannot guarantee numbers of visitors whichis dependent on the weather and we could even have to cancel due to snow. Numbers for snowdrops can vary between 150and 1,000 per day with around 65% taking tea. For other events numbers can be 20-60.
